    Plan for weather both ways

    Devon summers swing between glorious and torrential. Have a marquee corner or gazebo for the transmitter and music source, even if you're planning a sunny garden party.

    Pick the right transmitter spot

    Put the transmitter roughly central to your dancefloor with clear line-of-sight to guests. Behind a solid stone wall or inside a metal shipping container weakens the signal.

    Charge everything the day before

    The kit arrives fully charged, but for evening parties starting late we recommend a top-up in the afternoon. All headphones charge together on the supplied unit.

    Warn guests it's headphones-only

    A quick line on the invite ('bring nothing — headphones provided') stops confusion. Guests almost always say the moment they put them on is the best bit of the night.

    Think about lighting

    Silent discos look magic in the dark because of the coloured LED rings on each headphone. Festoon lights and a couple of uplighters are enough — you don't need a full disco rig.
